Co-ordinating Principal Researcher

Provide a brief summary (max. 200 words) of past and current DAFM and other relevant funded research including details of your research team. Indicate how your team will contribute to the development of a high calibre Long Term Forestry Research Initiative. Please attach a list of relevant publications, access to relevant infrastructure, patents and licences in Annex 1.

SECTION 3 Existing Capacity

Outline the existing capability & capacity in Long Term Forestry Research. Include details on the location, equipment, infrastructure and the resources currently in place in each (by) Institution/facility together with details of research site network, available datasets links to other relevant projects etc.

Please also provide details in this section of any services that are currently supplied to industry and any costs associated with such services.

Describe the suitability of this proposal and Consortium in terms of scope and capability to address long term forestry research needs

SECTION 4 MANAGEMENT PLAN

Please provide detailed management arrangements including a management plan for the day-to-day activities over the five year period, to describe how the consortium will function once established in co-ordinating its research activities. Please provide all other relevant information with regard to the management and integration plan (including management and other meetings, dissemination activities, conferences, stakeholder forum/fora etc.). Describe the Website and how it will operate.

SECTION 5

SCIENTIFIC PROPOSAL

Outline the key research needs which will be addressed .

Proposals will set-out

i. immediate and on-going plans and requirements to support the consolidation, management and maintenance of the existing research resource including plots, research and other data

ii. key long term forestry research needs together with outline plans to undertake this new research in a consolidated, multi-actor, inter-institutional, collaborative manner.

Expected Outcome – outline the outcomes and scientific, policy and other benefits to the Forestry sector; describe how the capacity, capability and critical mass of the research team would be developed and how the sustainability of the Initiative can be assured.
