PACT Meeting Minutes

Call to order 6:34 PM
Attendance: Marie Lemery, Tanya Pelosi, Jessie Kanter, Liz Goolgasian, Lindsay Marchand, Amy Vincenzi, Christine Avelar, Nicole Fiero, Sharon Manion, Jennifer Kilsey and Michelle Robert.
A motion was made by Christine Avelar to approve the November 2016 PACT meeting minutes; second by Lindsay Marchand. All in favor
Presidents Report:
- Happy New Year and welcome back for the second half of the year.
- Currently the PACT Board will have openings for the position of President, Vice President and Fundraising Chair. At this time no one has stepped forward to show interest in these positions. If no one steps forward, Lincoln Central will not have a PACT Board and events such as the Back to School Bash will not occur and items such as the student folders/planners will not be provided. These positions can be shared by “co” presidents/vice presidents. Please see a Board member for more information.
Treasurer’s Report:
- A copy of the current Treasurer’s report was distributed for review.
- The KidStuff coupon books made $3,000, it was a very successful fundraising campaign.
- End of year donation drive brought in $1,167, and matching gifts are still pending. You can give a tax friendly donation at any time during the year.
- Please contact Jessie Kanter at to purchase school merchandise.
- The PACT Board won 3 Nintendo 3DS XL systems in a PTO contest, these items will be raffled off at the Family Dance on March 18th.
Fundraising Report
- January 26th Texas Roadhouse restaurant night, present your flyer to the North Smithfield location and Central will receive 10% of your check. February 23rd will also be a restaurant night at Pizzeria Uno at the Smithfield location and April 6th at USA Skates.
Upcoming Events
- PBruins Night is January 20th, over 65 ticket were sold, Lincoln Central will be highly represented.
- Math Night for grades K-2 is Thursday, February 2nd. Volunteers are still needed, please contact Jessie Kanter or Melissa Colton if you can help out.
- Math Night for grades 3-5 is Thursday, February 9th.
- The CASEY afterschool program is being canceled once again for lack of volunteers. The Board will be considering other afterschool enrichment programs for future years such as paying a company to come in and staff the program.
- The first Lincoln Central Family Dance is March 18th at the Kirkbrae County Club 6-10 PM. Volunteers and gift basket donations are needed, contact Marie Lemery for more information or Family Dance information.
School Committee Liaison Report
- Due to enrollment numbers, there is the potential for the 2017-2018 6th grade class to lose a teacher.
- The next High School renovation meeting will be Thursday, January 12th at the Middle School. It was reported that on the Phase I renovation committee 15 out of the 16 members are non-educators. It appears that Teachers and Students voices are not being represented on this committee.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:08 PM.
The next PACT meeting will be Wednesday, February 1st at 6:30 PM.
