In the collection funds of Institute of Dendrology of ANAS has been introduced more than 600 species of trees and shrubs, 220 species of them are from East Asian flora.For many years, we carried out a study on the ecological and biological characteristics of the group of Eastern Asia species in conditions of Azerbaijan: the season of growth and development, productivity, frost and heat resistance, the degree of damage by pests and diseases, they are studied as well as the current status and the environmental assessment of the adaption and use in landscape architecture.There are successfully acclimatized species of Central Chinese and Japanese-Korean floristic provinces - Euonymus alatus, Celtis bungeana, Securinega suffruticosa, Juniperus chinensis and others.Thermophilic Chinese and Japanese flora species - Abelia chinensis, Berberis thunbergii, Lonicera caprifolium L., Koelreuteria paniculata, Poncirus trifoliata, Chamaecyparis pisifera, as expected, they are well acclimatized to our environment.Some species as Firmiana platanifolia, Tunga Fort et al.), they are very poorly bear hard winter and dry periods of the year.In the dry subtropical conditions of Azerbaijan have been grown several species from South Chinese subtropical plant species - Lagerstroemia indica, Viburnum opulus L., Cedrus atlantica, Mealia L... Introduced plants in this flora are well adapted to local conditions. At the present time they are used in the street landscaping, park planting and landscape architecture as typical subtropical woody plants from Eastern Asia flora.

Biography

Zemfira Hajibaba Abbasova has completed her PhD at the age of 38 years from Institute of Botany Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. She is the scientific secretaryof Institute of Dendrology Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. She has written more than 80 scientific papers in reputed journals and 1 of them are impact factor.
