Finalized Minutes for NSCF, Mechanicsburg Chapter Meeting held 22 OCT 2014

  1. Treasurer’s Report
  2. From previous meeting, $500 was in fact donated from NSCF-Mechanicsburg to the Navy Birthday Ball held 10 OCT 14.
  3. Executive Board Members at meeting voted 7 to 0; in favor of the following:
  1. There will be no more than 3 charities
  2. NSCF-Mechanicsburg will donate to the same 3 charities as last year (Intrepid, LEEK, and PARENT) for the end of year (2014) donation.
  3. The following was tabled to next meeting:
  1. Using the same 3 charities as last year’s NSCF-Mechanicsburg charity auction (2014) for the 2015 NSCF-Mechanicsburg charity auction.
  2. A vote is required to decide what charities to be used for next auction.
  3. Research is required and new ideas are to be forwarded to LCDR Albert Sonon

II. Previous Events:

  1. Navy Ball – (10 OCT 14) – Lead CPO Quarters
  1. Lessons Learned: Ticket Sales, Full information on attendees, and VIP parking signs.

III. Upcoming Events: NSCF

  1. Fall Golf Tournament run by GLS AMMO will be held 24 OCT 2014. Event will be held at Eagles Crossing Golf Club, Carlisle PA at 1200. Action Officers,CDR Tom LaCoss and LTJG Stacia Clutts, was present. RSVP deadline has now passed and have 67 confirmed golfers. As of meeting time, there is $1,850 in sponsor donations. Tournament has a potential to break $4,000 profit mark.
  2. Supply Corps Roadshow is officially scheduled for 27 -29 October. Interviews will be held 27-29 OCT at BSC (Building 409 NSA Mechanicsburg), and roadshow/social will be held at Special Events Forum, building #14 on the 28th commencing at 1800. To encourage spouse participation child care is being provided free of charge by certified child care personnel at the Child Development Center (CDC) from 1700 to 2030. Food will be served during the social hour from 1700 to 1800 and cost is $10 per person. LT Joey Lanclos is action officer and can be contacted for more information at x6421. Alternate POC is LT Richard Tisdale x5651.
  3. NSA Mechanicsburg Holiday Party – (6 DEC 2014). This will not be a NSCF-Mechanicsburg sponsored event. Event will be hosted by RADM Yuen and Mrs. Yuen. This event will be open to all local Supply Corps personnel to include all Officers, Enlisted, Retiree, and Civilian personnel. More to follow on this event.
  4. The 220th Supply Corps Ball is being led by NAVSUP Headquarters. O-6 lead is CAPT Bryan and confirmed date is 20 FEB 2015. The tentative guest speaker is Admiral Howard and event will be held at the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, PA.
  5. The next professional development tour remains TBD, however January 2015 is the next target date / opportunity.
  1. Upcoming Events: Other
  2. For Dine to Donate (D2D) events, goal is to generate $1K per year. Plan is to have 4 to 6 events per year. Next D2D location is Buffalo Wild Wings on 25 October from 1100 to 0200, followed by TGI Fridays on 10 NOV from 1100 to midnight, and Chic-Fil-A from December 8th to the 11th. New Fund Raising Lead, LCDR Evelyn Lee and Co-Lead, LCDR Tamara Sonon were present to discuss.
  3. All Calls Made and Returned will be held on 7 NOV in Washington DC at National Press Club. Action Officer is LT Joey Lanclos and as of 22 SEP there were 4 spots available for the chartered bus transportation to and from DC.
  4. Army Navy Football Game is on 13 DEC 2014. The location this year is M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD. Personnel who want to purchase tickets can get them at MWR Carlisle Barracks. There are 20 tickets remaining as of 15 OCT.
  5. On 27 FEB 2015, there will be another opportunity to attend the 220th Navy Supply Corps Ball, hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter. It will be held at the Union League of Philadelphia, but more details are to follow from the NSCF- Philadelphia Chapter.
