Explanation
The Integration Team will create a Charter to document the mission, goals, and deliverables of the team.
How to Use
- The Integration Team Leader facilitates the team Charter discussion. S/he should use a printing white board or flip chart, paper and pens to record team members' thoughts and contributions as well as decisions made by the team.
- When decisions about the team Charter are complete, the Integration Team Leader should document the decisions using the Integration Team Charter template.
Discuss the team Charter by:
- Identifying all team members.
Creating the team's mission.- Describe the objectives of the team.
Identifying team goals, deliverables, and due dates.- Refer to the high-level plans provided by the Executive Team, Steering Committee and Integration Team Leader.
- Outline the team's goals and major deliverables.
Establishing success measures.- How will the team define success? How will you measure your effectiveness?
Determining reporting and communication responsibilities.- Who is this team accountable to?
- How often will you communicate with this person/team?
Identifying resource needs and availability.- What person or group will your team need information or decisions from, or who will the team need to provide information or decisions to?
Defining boundaries, constraints and assumptions.- What can change?
- What cannot change?
Time Required
An Integration Team Charter discussion may require up to four hours.

- Need to provide administrative resources to Task Forces—1 resource for every 2 teams.
- Jane Simpson will commute between Boston and Chicago for the next month.

- Budget cannot change.
- Timeline cannot slip.
