Science Fair- Research Plan & Forms
· Use the template on page 9 for your rough draft
· You will TYPE out the information for the paper you TURN IN
· You will also attach your form you received in class to this plan. (use the description on my website if you need help filling these out- MAKE sure they are SIGNED on the front and the back of the forms)
Research plan info:
· Whatever Font and Size as long as I can read it!
· Type out each heading (ex Title: )
· Name: You and your partner’s name( if applicable)
· Project Title: This needs to be 6 words or less and interesting!
· Question being addressed: this is the problem or question you are addressing…the whole point of the experiment!
· Hypothesis: Yes you need to make your hypothesis in an “if/then” format, I know it sounds weird but that is the proper way. If ______is changed then, ______will happen. Ex. If the type of fertilizer is changed (IV), then fertilizer A will grow the plants the highest. Be SPECIFIC with your then statement….DO NOT just say a vague outcome!
· Procedures: List at least 10, numbered and in complete sentences
· Data Analysis: This IS NOT the same thing as the Analysis of Data on your board. This needs to be a minimum of 5 sentences long. You are describing how you will USE your data. Ex) During my experiment, I will be collecting data and entering it into a data table, I will then be making a graph with this data…..and so on. DON’T use this sentence!
· Bibliography: I know you already turned one in with your paper, turn in another one and please make sure it is not just a list of websites, use easybib.com and CITE YOUR SOURCES
