Half term activities - Cheshire Hunt North Pony Club

We have put on a varied half term programme for you all – please get your entries in asap if you would like to join in.

Friday 13th February
Frostbite arena eventing training competition
Huntersgate, Byley.
An opportunity to improve your skills in a friendly training environment.
Clear round, followed by classes 1’6 – 2’6. Ideal for members wanting to gain confidence before venturing out in the Spring.

Saturday 14th February - Working rally at Huntersgate, Byley, 12 – 4pm.
B test training, instructional rally with stable management, polocrosse and mounted games.

Rally entry fee £7.50.
Dress code as for a working rally.
Monday 16th February, 9am start.
Arena event training with Liz Lyonette at Somerford Park Farm, on the new facility near the 80 acres, including the water complex!
We do have a few places available on this training for members wanting to represent the branch at Novice, Intermediate or Open level this year in show jumping or eventing.
£20 per person.

Tuesday 17th February
Arena eventing training with Olympic rider Vittoria Pannizon, Huntersgate, Byley.
We have once again been invited by WRC to join in with this marvellous opportunity. The training is open to members jumping 2’6 and above, with confidence.

Wednesday 18th February
Beginner and Novice Show Jumping clinic at Huntersgate, Byley. 10-1pm.
3 session for the price of 1 – flatwork, polework and jumping a course of show jumps. All welcome. £12.50 per person. We only have 12 places so do book in early.

Thursday 19th February
Ainsdale Beach Ride – 11am
Unfortunately due to insufficient entries we have cancelled this activity. We will try to organise another in the summer.
Friday 20th February
An introduction to Pony Club racing day.
Morning session, in the indoor school, only £15; whole day £20 (including the gallops).
Morning session 10-1pm at Forestgate Farm, Norley, (by kind permission of Jane & Richard Carruthers), afternoon session follows on the gallops at Kelsall Hill.
The British Horseracing Education & Standards are once again joining ranks with The Pony Club to offer an exciting and inspirational pony racing taster day.
Ruth Hurley, from The Pony Club and Carrie Ford, former lady jockey, will be running the day. The morning session, 10am – 1pm, will be an interactive hands on experience: Mark Caldwell will be bringing along the Equicisor, working on position and balance when racing on the mechanical horse, Carrie will be offering instruction in race riding, on your pony plus learning more about the world of racing.
The afternoon session will be on the gallops at Kelsall Hill, putting all into practice. Carrie will be giving all top tips for racing success! All welcome, lead reins included. Don’t worry re the gallops – canter & trotting is fine too!
