This role profile is non-contractual and provided for guidance. It will be updated and amended from time to time in accordance with the changing needs of the University and the requirements of the job.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
GWizards (the Computing & Information Systems Department Student Enterprise Initiative) and Greenwich Bright (the Faculty of Architecture, Computing and Humanities’ Enterprise and Innovation Hub), is working in partnership a number of external clients to develop software applications and games. We are looking for a number of games developers to work on current projects. We are keen to find students with a range of different skills and knowledge to complement our current development team.
The successful candidates will be allocated to a games development team managed by Greenwich Bright. You will be working to a supervisor who will help you to work with one of our clients. Under the guidance of your supervisor you will design and create mobile application games or use games development techniques for larger IT projects.
Initially, you will be allocated to a project suitable to your current skills and level of experience. There will be opportunity to join other projects and learn new skills after successful completion of a project.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate your ability to work as part of a team, follow written requirements and specifications, work under pressure to a given project plan and document work clearly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Specific:
- Design and create mobile application games.
- Contribute to art design for ongoing projects
- Design and create game content using industry standard software and tools (e.g. Unity, C#)
- Document all stages in this process
- Contribute to the release of the functionality and provide a test and implementation plan.
- Other ad hoc responsibilities that might arise as part of this project.
- Work in a flexible manner to ensure that, when necessary,multiple projects can be delivered concurrently
- Ability to work on own initiative without constant supervision
- To provide honest and open feedback relating to support requirements and progress of workloads
- Ability to work with and contribute to games development team
- Adhere to and promote the University’s Equality and Diversity policy

- Previous experience of games development

Qualifications
- Agames development related degree or degree that provides skill sets and experience that can be applied effectively in for games development
