Louisiana Freedom Fighter Award Points
This is an award for members of A.B.A.T.E. of Louisiana, Inc. who have shown their outstanding service to this organization’s effort to sustain freedom for all motorcyclists and the enhancement of their chapter. It is the belief and the goal of this organization to protect the rights of motorcyclists, to enjoy the sport of motorcycling in the State of Louisiana, and to enhance public awareness of motorcycles and motorcycle safety. We can decrease motorcycle fatalities through proper training of all motor vehicle operators on the highway.
The Freedom Fighters award shall be awarded to individual members of this organization who meet certain qualifications of the point system below, set by the Executive State Board.

10 Working your chapter function per day
5 Each new member signed up
15 (1xonly) Accepting an appointed chapter position
10 Attending another chapter’s meeting
10 Teach or Aid in Teaching a Share the Road class
20 (1xonly) Complete the Share the Road Instructors class
25 Completing a Louisiana Motorcycle Safety Course
15 Working at another chapters function per day
10 Each State Board meeting attended
5 bonus points (1xonly) Attending all state board meeting in one year
10 (1xonly) Serving on a state committee
15 Working at a state function per day
10 Attending another State’s A.B.A.T.E. or MRO meeting (with proof)
10 Each article published in the A.B.A.T.E. newsletter
10 Each add sold for the state newsletter
15 Every return letter from a legislator about motorcycle legislation
25 Get a legislator to a meeting
40 Testify in Baton Rouge
40 Getting a new chapter started in other areas of the state

15 (1 x only) Accepting an appointed state or position
The total number of points to be awarded a Louisiana Freedom Fighters award______100
The total number of points to be awarded a Louisiana Freedom Fighters Youth award______50
The points shall be tracked by the Chapter Secretary and will be verified by the Chapter President. The Chapter President shall petition the Executive State Board of A.B.A.T.E. of Louisiana, Inc. in writing of said member/member’s record of points earned at the January meeting.
The Executive State Board shall review the points.
The award/awards shall be awarded at the March Executive State Board meeting.
The member receiving the award shall be present at the Executive State Board meeting to receive the award.
