Goulds Hoopsters is in the process of selecting an Under 13 All-Star team.
This teams is a select group of 10-12 girls who willrepresent us in the Provincial Club Championships in December, 2014.
The U13 team will be coached by Doreen Pond.
This team is different from the regular Hoopsters house league teams
and there may be travel outside of Newfoundland involved. (Easterns are May 24 w/e)
Girls in grade 6 &7 who are eligible are permitted to try out for theU13 team.
Try outs for this team is completely voluntary and the All-Star teamprogram is over and above regular Hoopster sessions.
The 1st try-out will be held on Monday, September 15th at St Kevin’s High
School, Back Line from 5:30-7:00 pm.
Practice times will be twice a week until December, Mondays 5:30 to 7 pm
along with another time TBD once the team is chosen.
Practices will be once a week while school teams are preparing for
provincials(after Christmas)
Players must have been registered in the Hoopsters winter programand this session.
All Star players must commit to attending hoopster skill sessions and all-star practices and games.
All Players trying out for an All Star team are required to pay a $200 fee (cash or cheque)
prior to the tryout. This is required to show a serious commitment to the all-star program. This money will be refunded to those that are not selected to the team. For those named to the team, this fee secures the players position on the team and is used for extra gym rental for refs minor officials uniform rental etc. it is non-refundable.
All athletes selected to an All Star team are expected to participate in all team activities, including travel, tournaments and practices.
Non participation will be addressed by the executive on an individual basis.
Please read the following very carefully to ensure you fullyunderstand the commitments - financial, emotional and time.
You and your child understand that FAIR PLAY rules do not apply to theAll-Star Team and it is possible your child may not receive any playingtime. It is entirely the coach's decision which will be upheld by theboard. It is definitely possible your child will sit for any and all games
the teams play in (practice games and tournaments, Provincials andEasterns.
This is a competitive team.
