SCHOLARSHIPS

FOR THOSE STUDYING SUBJECTS RELATING TO THE BUILDING INDUSTRY

Scholarships are available for students to benefit from further study, research or travel associated with the construction industry.

Applicants may be under graduates or post graduates and their intended study may cover a wide variety of aspects relating to the building trade.

Scholarship money available each year is TEN THOUSAND POUNDS, all or part of which, is available to successful applicants.

It is hoped to encourage students to extend their knowledge beyond that required by their normal course of study. Useful and practical studies are encouraged as well as academic studies.

Examples of applications that might receive favourable consideration include:

  • Studying building methods and practices unique to other countries
  • Gaining valuable practical experience of project management at home and abroad
  • Research into the use of new building materials and techniques
  • Experimental analysis of methods to improve productivity in the building process through, for example, safer working methods and the reduction of waste

Successful applicants would be expected to relate their findings for other students to benefit from their experience.

In the first instance the application form should be completed and returned to the Trust. Thereafter selected applicants will be asked to attend an interview to discuss their proposed project and intentions.
