FernandoAward Foundation, Inc.
December 2015
Dear Fernando Award Foundation Supporter,
We hope that you were able to attend this year’s Fernando Award Dinner which was held in the Performing Arts Center at California State University, Northridge. Based on feedback from many of you, it was a success and enjoyed by all. The evening focused on recognizing the twelve Fernando nominees and their commitment and service to our communities. The culmination of the event was the announcement that Mark Levinson was the
2015 Fernando Award recipient of the “Oscar” for service and volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley.
Each year we work tirelessly to search for and encourage the nomination of individuals who have made a positive impact in our San Fernando Valley community by volunteering their time, talent and treasure. All of these outstanding individuals are recognized and celebrated at our annual dinner with the announcement of the Fernando Award Recipient as the grand finale. We hope that you are already preparing to submit the name of a worthy nominee for next year’s award.
The Fernando Award Foundation is about more than stimulating volunteerism by recognizing and honoring it. This year’s board has embarked on a three-year strategic look at our organization; as part of that, we will complete the planning and implementation of series of goals intended to strengthen the Foundation and to enhance its mission to “encourage volunteerism through recognition.” This can be accomplished with your help and support as either a Benefactor or Patron. Both levels offer certain benefits that you can only get as a supporter of the Fernando Award Foundation. You will be prominently displayed in all our mailings throughout the year, as well as in our event programs, on our website at you will have the privilege of voting for the Fernando Award recipient.
We count on your support to help fund our annual activities in order to keep the spirit of volunteerism alive and well in our San Fernando Valley community.
The level of support for Benefactor remains at $600 for the year, and in addition to the benefits above, it provides two tickets to the Fernando Award Dinner, which will be held in the fall of 2016.
The commitment for a Patron is $350 for the year, and includes one ticket to the Fernando Award Dinner.
Please take a moment to complete the enclosed form, and return it with your contribution. With your financial support, we will continue to honor our deserving community leaders and volunteers in the great tradition of Fernando.
Again, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Fernando Award Foundation, thank you very much for your support.
Sincerely,
David Honda
President
