1st Grade Benchmarks

By the end of 1st the student should be able to:

1. Use a variety of locomotor and non locomotor movements in a large group without bumping into others or falling.

2. Modify locomotor and non locomotor patterns by adjusting speed (slow, fast) and direction (forward, backward, sideways) quickly and safely without falling.

3. Travel demonstrating a variety of relationships with stationary and/or moving objects, (under, over, behind) through while moving.

4. Transfer weight from one body part to another in a variety of ways.

23. Repeatedly strike a balloon upward using both right and left hands or a lightweight paddle.

24. Strike a small, lightweight ball upward using hand or lightweight paddle letting it bounce between strikes (strike, bounce, strike, bounce).

25. Consistently strike a ball with a bat from a tee or cone, using the correct grip and side to target.
