Attendance Sheet

SPECIAL NOTE TO COMMISSIONERS AND STATISTICIAN - please make sure stats are as current as possible by January 3rd so the Statistician can get us a copy of the most current stats to bring to this meeting. It would be a good idea for Commissioners to review the stats to make sure your records agree with the stats.

Additions to Agenda (additions will be discussed after the playoff format is complete)

a)  Midget Prospects Game – each association forward email reminder to your midget coaches

Cut off January 7, 2009 5:30pm / Game January 11th 2:30 pm @ Horselake

b) Review of claim to fine – reviewed request from High Prairie to review missed game because of no refs in the 07/08 season

c) Referee issues –2-man system: One referee must be at least 2 divisions above the game he is calling and the other referee must be at least one division above the level he is doing, you can not have 2 referees one division above the game they are doing. For example, on a Bantam game you will need at least one adult referee and one midget referee and you will not be able to use 2 midget referees.
3-man system: The referee must be at least 2 divisions above the level they are referring and the linesmen should be one division abovebut they can also be of the same division. For example, on a Peewee game you must have a midget referee and the linesmen should be bantam butpeewees canbe used as linesmen.
No one will be allowed to referee games of the same division, for example, Bantam Tier I referees will not be allowed to referee any Bantam games. The only time there will be an exception to this is if Rule 5.2 k) from the Hockey Canada Rule Book needs to be enforced. Please have your coaches get familiar with this rule.
Ifthese requirements can not be met 72 hours prior to game time then the game must be cancelled as per our bylaws. (from President Norm Duval email dated Tuesday January 6/09

1.  d) Fort Vermillion – Fort Vermillion will have to begin the membership process all over as stated in the bylaws You must attend 4 out of the 5 meetings in order to keep your association in good standing in the league (no one can miss the scheduling & playoff meetings otherwise teams will not play). In these scenarios, only two teams do not participate in playoffs, and there are only two divisions so big that a “C” Banner is required. However, we need 38 banners, which is a considerable expense for the League.
