Job Title: Volunteer Pathway Co-ordinator Reports to: Children’s Manager
Purpose : To manage the pathway, from initial interest to introduction on project, to ensure the successful recruitment of volunteers to support SoLO’s core purpose.

Day to Day
- Recruit volunteers within SoLO’s guidelines ensuring the screening procedures are adhered to and appropriate reference checking is undertaken.
- Ensure that all volunteers are kept informed of general progress of the wider organisation.
- Maintain accurate confidential records relating to volunteers within the requirements of the Data Protection Act. Maintain an effective recording and monitoring system of volunteer activities.
- Explain the recording system for claiming expenses to volunteers and the importance of accurately maintaining records.
- Prepare regular reports for the Trustee Board, as requested by Chief Executive.
- Represent the organisation at a borough wide level to support the continued flow of volunteers within the organisation, reflecting SoLO’s good practice approach to the maintenance of volunteering.
- Identify initial training needs and establish an on-going training programme for all new volunteers via the respective project leader.
- To ensure that all of the staff in SoLO are engaged in the positive support of volunteers within all aspects of our work.
- To look for ways to support people with learning disabilities into volunteering.
- To support the Disability Awareness Training.
- Volunteering levels on projects
- Contribute to Retention levels by ensuring good matches are made between volunteers and projects.
Internal
- Working with Project Staff to encourage value of volunteering to be appreciated
- Effective reporting to the Chief Executive Officer
- Partnering with other agencies involved in the Volunteering agenda
