Land O’ Lakes High School Gator Band

2016-2017

Band Program

Forms Packet

Director: Riley Batts

Dear Land O’ Lakes H.S. Band Members and Parents,

I am looking forward to another exciting and rewarding year with the Land O’ Lakes High School Band program. This packet contains very important information relating to participation in band/guard. At this time we need to collect an accurate count of members who will be participating in the band program. It is very important that all band students in grades 8-11 complete the forms found later in the packet and return them by Thursday, June9th. Please read this packet carefully. It contains vital information pertaining to the 2016Land O’ Lakes Marching Band, including calendars, schedules, uniform specifics and payment information.

We have worked diligently to keep the marching band fair share assessment as reasonable as possible while still providing one of the best educational experiences in the country. This year’s marching band fair shareis the same as last year’s ($250), and will include uniform cleanings and show shirts. This fee does not include the school course fee of $25, which must be paid TO THE SCHOOL upon registration day. We encourage ALL members to fundraise as much of their fees as possible. Our community is very supportive of our band program, and our band program works hard to serve and represent our community well. The school and director look forward to providing the marching band students with a high quality show, staff, and lifelong skills, memories and experiences!

The Land O’ Lakes High School Gator Marching Band has a tradition of superior performance, which has been achieved through a high level of commitment and dedication of our band members, administration, volunteers and staff. By signing the attached agreement and including your non-refundable marching band deposit, you will be expected to participate in all scheduled/required band activities. Failure to do so would be extremely disruptive to those present at rehearsals. Please fill out the appropriate forms (indicated at the bottom of the Letter of Agreement page) and return it with your deposit to Mrs. Batts by June 9, 2016. Make checks/money orders payable to “Land O’ Lakes High School.”

The instrumental music staff has made the commitment to continue the Gator Marching Band’s tradition of excellence. We will have an exciting and challenging marching band show for the 2016 season. We challenge every member to take true ownership in this class organization. By working hard and working together, we can make this an exceptionally rewarding experience for everyone associated with our band.

Details on eligibility, qualifications and policy can be found in the Band Handbook. All band students must return the signed handbook slip as well (this is a graded assignment for all band students at the start of each school year). If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Batts.

Sincerely,

Riley Batts
