ILP Career Exploration Movie
Movie Requirements
You are creating a multimedia career movie. You will have a minimum of 10citedslides (with TITLES and a graphic/photo and a caption/text on each).
Directions:
- Log into ILP as a resource for the following items in your movie. You may look up additional information on the Internet to supplement the ILP information if necessary. Cite those sources as well.
- Pick ONE careerILP to focus on-the one you have the most interest in and realistically could do some day.
- Go to Google Images and save approximately 12 pictures that you want to use in your movie to a folder on your computer or H: drive first.
- To open MovieMaker----Go to Start, Programs, Windows Live, MovieMaker
- On the left, click Import Pictures
- Drag Pictures to the blank slides at the bottom of the screen (storyboard).
- Save your movie and continue.
- Adding Text to Slides/Photos: on the left, choose EDIT MOVIE, Titles and Credits. Pick the one you want.
- Make a Title Slide first with the title “My Career Exploration” and the Subtitle should be thename of your career that you are exploring.
- Put your name, date and class block on the title slide as well.
Add captions to all slides explaining the following:
- Slide 2: Make a Job Description slide—tell what they do on this slide, responsibilities, duties, expectations, skills needed and more……
- Slide 3: Make another slidewith Working Conditions-what are the working conditions?
- Slide 4: Earnings/Salary-give the expected salary range information for beginning and experienced workers.
- Slide 5: Education Requirements—what is the school you plan to attend to get the education for this career? Be sure to list degrees, schooling needed. Give details!
- Slide 6: Sample Career Path-explain it on your slide
- Slide 7: Related Careers-list the related careers given.
- Slide 8: Other Resources-web sites where I can find out more about this profession—pick at least 3.
- Add Video Effects andAdd Transitions: Go to Edit Movie on the left to add video effects, transitions and titles. Drag them down to the appropriate spot on the storyboard.
- Slide 9: Sources Cited— Sources Cited slide-cite all sources used for images, sounds, music etc.
- Slide 10: Closing Thoughts slide—reflect on your long term career goal and your future plans. Do not put “the end!”
- Add music (MP3 format only) to your movie-you have to save an MP3, then import it. Go to Capture Video on the left and import audio or music and drag down to the music track. Trim/clip if necessary and fade it out.
- Finishing your Movie: Put a CD in the drive, Go to Finish Movie, Save to CD and follow the directions on the screen.
