Fifteenth Annual Report 2013-14
General Body Meeting
The General Body meeting of the Association was held at MPUAT, Udaipur on November 22, 2013 at 1800 hrs. The House approved the audit report and annual report for year 2012-13 presented by the Secretary. GB approved the institutions of different awards and felicitation of scientists and also for holding next international seminar at Pantanagar.
Executive Council
During the year under report the EC communicated through email and also met on 22nd November 2013 to transect the business. EC approved the committee proposed for evaluating the application for different awards. EC also approved the proposal received by Global Federation of Agrometeorological Societies.
Enrollment of Members
During the year 2013-2014, 53-life members were enrolled with Association. Thus the total number of life memberships increased up to 909 by the end of March 2014. A total of 122 annual members were enrolled during the year 2013.
Organization of Seminar
Association did not organize any seminar during 2013-14. International Symposium on “New-Dimensions in Agrometeorology for Sustainable Agriculture (NASA-2014)” was proposed to be held during16-18 October, 2014at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar. Dr. Ajeet Singh Nain was requested to bring out the circular for its wide publicity.
Financial Status
As per audit report during the year 2013-2014 total income was Rs 3,74,186/- including contribution from Hyderabad Chapter and the total expenditure was Rs.2,84,564/- giving a surplus of Rs. 89,622/-. A sum of Rs. 22,05,308/- has been kept as fixed deposit with Central Bank of India which include FD for various awards and memorial lectures.
Best Thesis Award
No thesis was received for “Dr. P D Mistry award for the best Ph.D thesis in Agricultural Meteorology”.
For Prof P S N Sastry award for Best M.Sc. thesis in Agricultural Meteorology”, Nine applications were received. Out of 9, 4 were rejected as there was not relevant to Agrometeorology. Remaining 5 thesis were sent to experts for evaluation. The thesis by Ms. Shraddha Rawat of GBPUAT, Pantnagar was recommended for the award for the year 2013. Awards and certificates to the recipients will be presented during International Symposium to be held at Pantnagar, on 16-18 October 2014.
Dr S Venktaraman Young Scientist Award
For young scientist award two nominations were received. But none were found suitable.
Dr S Venktaraman Best Paper Award
Four papers were received but none were found to fulfill the criteria, hence all were rejected.
Publication of Journal of Agrometeorology
Journal of Agrometeorology is published twice in a year appearing in June and December. The journal is well appreciated by National and International organizations. It is being indexed by CAB International, Current contents, INSDOC, Scopus, AGRICOLA and others indexing agencies. During 2013, 145 papers were received, 27 papers were published /accepted, 66 papers were rejected and rests are under the process of revision. It is a matter great pleasure that the Journal is rated by NAAS as 6.15 which is one of the best in Indian Journals.

Association has its website with new domain name www.agrimetassociation.org. During the year website has been viewed by more than 14000 visitors from 130 countries. 67% of visitors are from India, 12% of visitors are from USA and remaining are from different countries. All members are requested to visit the site and give their feed back for its further improvement to .
