To: All Customers Doing POP Discounting by Card Type
Important Message! Action May be Required!
From time to time, changes must be made to the BP Card Deck. This is accomplished by sending an updated card table to the Viper software in the V-900 and V-920. In most cases, these downloads are done quickly, and with no site impact. The table changes apply during the next end of day.
Table changes have been made to add the new Synchrony Financial BP Visa and BP Gas Card, and after testing, have begun to be deployed. This new card tablechanges the POP Discounting configuration for some POS systems, when deployed to sites usingthe POP Discounting feature. This resultsin the loss of discounts for the cards originally chosen and adding unintended discounts to other cards.
URGENT ACTION!
If you are using POP Discounting by Card Type, you must turn this function off until the new Synchrony card tables are deployed by May 15, 2015.
Failure to disable POP Discounting will result in changes to your discounts by card type when you receive the new card table. By turning this feature off, these downloads can be completed by the deadline without unexpected changes to POP Discounting.
Beginning May 18, 2015, or upon receiving an “all clear” message from my team, your sites may return to using POP Discounts by Card Type. Before turning this feature back on, each site must reconfigure the POP Discounting settings.
If you have any questions about how to disable and re-enable POP Discounting by Card Type correctly, you can contact your POS vendor’s help desk, or your local service tech. For additional information, contact Jim Williams at .
Since this download impacts primarily Verifone POS customers, the instructions for disabling this feature are included on the following pages.
Sincerely,
Nancy Tosto
Payment Systems Manager
