Dear Representatives,

As mentioned in last week’s email, the following forms will be used to gather information on genre unit needs in your building. We understand that this information is a bit taxing to collect; however, the data will ensure that teachers have the resources needed to teach the genre units. Only one set of forms per school is needed. Please have these forms completed for our February 1st meeting.

We also understand that not all units are taught or used at the grade levels. In order to be certain that this information is taken into consideration, teachers in grades 3-8 will be asked to respond to a very short online survey. The data you collect and your teachers’ responses will help our council determine what materials need to be replenished or replaced due to wear. (Guidelines for “replacement” are listed on each grade-level form.) It is necessary to have this information when we present our needs to administration and the K-12 Committee.

Also, please be assured that we know about the revisions available to the middle school units, the optional 5th grade Mystery Unit, and the new 4th grade genre unit that will be available in the fall. These will be discussed at our meetings, but are not addressed in this survey.
