Job Summary: This individual will provide education to employees of Baptist Health, nurse externs, schools of nursing, public health department, pre-hospital providers and others seeking training in an innovative, high-tech environment utilizing principles of SMART Training and human simulation. The individual will operate, maintain, and support electronic human simulators for the purpose of providing state of the art education and training. The Simulation specialist will participate in research to support the mission and vision of Baptist Health.

  1. Demonstrates technical proficiency with all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support, trouble shooting, and repair of all of the simulation equipment, computer and electronic systems:

  2. Assure simulators are in good working condition prior to the start of all simulations
  3. Operate or assist with the operation of the simulation session
  4. Demonstrate or teach technical aspects of operating the simulator to adjunct faculty members and others as designated by the Director

Job Requirements / Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing- BSN preferred. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience required. Prior teaching experience preferred. Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills. Practice certification in specialty area (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.) preferred. Familiarity with the use of personal computers and audio/visual equipment is desirable. / Sitting 20% Mobility 80%
Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Occasional exposure to radiation. Continuous need for speaking and clear diction as well as hearing sensitivity, and visual acuity. An ability to travel from one Montgomery Division location to another in a timely manner, whether travel is planned or unplanned, is required. /
  • Moderate travel up to 3 days per week with some exposure to the elements.
