- (Camie) Just received information summarizing Char-Meck Public Library Summer Reading Program with 91 total students participating, proposed celebration for October 11th or October 18th (2:30-4:00 PM, rotations thru the café); ConsiderationsFall Pics (10-11 AM; 6th grade Health classes)
- ASC Dates are set for the following:
- 11/10/16 – Tortoise and the Hare presented by Opera Carolina to Lower El. onsite in the gym
- 4/17/17 – Reedy Creek, 3 primary classes, 10:30-1 PM
- 4/24/17 – Reedy Creek, 2 Primary classes, 10:30-1 PM
- S.E.E.D. Updates for staff [from Franz] tabled until next meeting
- (Corey) Upper El. Sedgefield Trip conflict on 10/25/16, proposes move to 10/27/16; ConsiderationsPerspective Family Open House (will follow-up with Sedgefield for alternate date)
- (Carol) Primary visit to Lower El. scheduled for 3/21/17 with two rotations (9:30-10, 10-10:40 AM)
- Primary and Lower El. field day is set for 3/30/17, format and logistics TBD
Principal Update
- Student Enrollment to date: 336; higher than past trends which is good in terms of staff allotments at the 20th day of school; CMS Executive Staff tracks numbers and has been supportive in leaving all positions in place although there was the possibility of losing .5 of a teacher position, “thank you” to Tara Lynn Sullivan, Central Learning Community Superintendent

- Still considering candidates for the TD Teacher position
- New posting for Lunch Assistant, 11-12 hours per week daily during lunch hours, please ask interested candidatesto apply and reach out to Sophia or Christie with any good recommendations
- New posting for TA Position due to Ms. Marie resigning to focus on family and personal needs
- Montessori Principals are meeting with Natasha Thompson, representing CMS Magnet Office, around discussions for future Montessori Teacher Training needs, current facility doesn’t meet needs of CMS Montessori Community, options on table to find another training center or start-up an in-house training pipeline, Melanie G. is submitting a proposal for consideration (considering current support of Montessori by CMS, this is a truly viable option)
