This funding will be used to
- Increase the percentage of students in the bands above National Minimum Standards in reading and writing.
- Increase the percentage of students in the bands above the national minimum standards in numeracy.
- Increase the proportion of students in NAPLAN Upper 2 Bands for Year 3 and 5 numeracy.
- Improve teacher capability in NAPLAN and school based data analysis and pedagogical practices in order to address individual student needs.
Our strategy will be to
- Link with tertiary institutions to diagnose hearing and vision difficulties across the student body to ensure equitable access to education by all students.
- Improve teacher capability in data analysis and pedagogical practices.
- Enhance teacher capability in the teaching of literacy and numeracy utilizing PD opportunities, cognitive coaching and teacher observation and feedback model.
- Develop and implement parent programs to engage and strengthen partnerships and to up skill parents in the area of numeracy.
- Improve working memory of students operating at or below the National Minimum Standards in reading, writing and numeracy.
- Provide intervention programs in reading for targeted students.
Our school will improve student outcomes by
- Increasing Teacher Aide support across school to assist in the implementation of literacy and numeracy
- and the implementation of the Cogmed Working Memory Program. $11 000
- Renewal of License for Cogmed working memory Program. $300
- Hearing and Vision tests to ensure an equitable education for students. $750
- Build teacher capability to use school based and systemic data to develop Student Support Plans that focus on areas of improvement with targeted learning goals.
- Professional Development : train a school based profiler to assist teacher pedagogical development.
- Teacher release: to engage in the North Coast Region Numeracy Project observation and feedback cycle.
