Minutes of the regular meeting of Council of the Town of Bow Island held in Council Chambers onSeptember 14, 2015. A quorum of Council being present Deputy Mayor Moncrieff called the meeting to order at 5:55 p.m.

4.Business Arising from the Minutes
Town Manager Bridge updated Mr. Nelson Braden in regards
the concerns of the vehicles speeding along 1st Avenue East. The RCMP
has been contacted & we are awaiting a reply. Town Manager Bridge & Public Works are looking into the option of placing speed bumps on
1st Avenue.

Shortgrass LibraryCouncillor Moncrieff attended the Shortgrass Library Board Meeting in
Board MeetingMedicine Hat on August 26, 2015. The paper policy manual will be changed to a digital policy manual.
Pleasant View LodgeCouncillors Moncrieff & Hyland attended the Forty Mile Foundation Board of Directors Meeting on September 9th. The new phone system seems to be working very well. The Board is applying for a grant for a new sprinkler system.
Palliser EconomicCouncillors Hyland & Moncrieff attended the Palliser Economic
PartnershipPartnership Meeting on September 11th. Councillor Moncrieff provided Council with a report from the PalliserEconomic Partnership Board Meeting.
Bylaw CommitteeCouncillors DeLeenheer & Davis attended a Bylaw Committee Meeting.
Councillor Davis provided Council with a report from the Bylaw Committee Meeting.
Municipal PlanningCouncillor Davis attended a Municipal Planning Commission Meeting on
CommissionSeptember 9th. Two permits were discussed and both permits were approved with conditions.
Recreation AdvisoryCouncillor DeLeenheer provided Council with a report from the
BoardRecreation Advisory Board meeting on September 1, 2015.
TourismCouncillor Ficiur attended the Tourism Committee Meeting on
CommitteeSeptember 10, 2015. The Committee is in need for new members.
The number of visitors attending the Visitor Information Centre is down
from last year’s figures.
Chamber of Councillor MacLean attended the Chamber of Commerce Meeting on Commerce September 2nd. The Small Business Week will be held October 19 -23.
The Market in the Park was a success this year and organizers thanked
all vendors & attendees.
b)Town Manager
Swimming PoolTown Manager Bridge reported the pool has been closed for the season. Winterizing is taking place currently and will be completed by the end of September.
ArenaTown Manager Bridge reported the ice plant at the arena was started on
September 11 so the ice will be getting placed within the next couple of weeks.
Downtown ParkPublic Works have been working on the Downtown Park to get it completed before winter.
Susan AndersenTown Manager Bridge would like Council’s opinion on the samples
Memorial Libraryof two sign designs for the Susan Andersen Library. We have shared
the designs with the Library Board & Town Manager Bridge will contact
Leif & April Andersen for their opinions. Consensus from Council was
the sign with the white background & blue border.
