Traditions Coordinator

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Traditions Coordinator aims to provide programming that highlight large scale, traditional USD events. This coordinator is responsible for Torero Program Board (TPB) events such as Big Blue Bash, Sun, Surf, and Volley and Spring Fest.

General Responsibilities

Torero Program Board:

·  Attend all scheduled Torero Program Board Retreats and Meetings

·  Responsible for a minimum of 8 office hours per week (more hours will be necessary during certain weeks and will vary for each TPB position)

·  Meet with Torero Program Board advisor/s for professional development

·  Attend and support Torero Program Board events/programs

·  Manage the TPB Budget responsibly

·  Mentor and train newly appointed coordinators during the spring transition period

·  Complete necessary planning forms

o  Budget Forms

o  Marketing Forms

o  Event Proposal Forms

o  Event Registration Forms

o  Event Planning Document

·  Work with Torero Program Board advisor(s) to make any contractual agreements

·  Take lead and work in collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator to publicize programming to wide ranges of audiences

·  If applicable, arrange for the prompt payment of performing artists by working in conjunction with respective Vice Chair

·  Meet weekly with designated supervisor

·  Abide by all University policies and procedures

Specific Responsibilities:

·  Directly report to the Vice Chair of Main Events

·  Coordinate and plan long standing, traditional events

·  Coordinate and plan Big Blue Bash and the festival portion of Olé Music Festival in collaboration with the TPB Concerts Coordinator

·  Responsible for programming, but not limited to, a series of events:

o  Sun, Surf, and Volley

o  Big Blue Bash

o  Winter Wonderland

o  Olé Music Festival (festival portion)

o  Day at the Bay

o  Spring Fest

Traditions Coordinator

·  Candidates must have and maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA
