2 / Roll Call / Check roll and ensure quorum / Quorum was not met two members present.
3 / Approval of Minutes / Minutes from April 1, 2014 meeting / It was the consensus of the members for approval of the April 1, 2014 minutes as presented.
Old Business - Updates
4 / Trauma Categories / Trauma Categories document was previously approved on Nov. 5, 2013, due to the Board’s decision to adopt the 2011 CDC Guidelines for Field Triage of Injured patients the committee revised the document. / It was the consensus of the committee to re-categories and move the revised document back through for Board approval during the August 7, 2014 Board meeting.
5 / Patient Safety / Mr. Turpen submitted information and provide additional documents on the near miss reporting system. / Mr. O’Neal and Mr. Chandler stated they will work together on a possible hit and near miss data base for reporting. Bring back at a future meeting for additional discussion.
6 / Patient Pain / Mr. O’Neal provide an update on the development of the patient pain management cards addressing additional bullets points that were previously discussed. / It was the consensus of the committee to move forward with the Wong-Baker Pain Scale as presented to the full Board during the June 5, 2014 meeting.
New Business
7 / RSI Reporting / Discussion was held on the revised reporting document developed by Dr. Martin. Dr. Martin stated she continues to complete a review of the RSI protocol before the actual document is required. / Dr. Martin stated she will be making a few modifications to the airway reporting document in order to move forward with posting to the KBEMS website as a working document should a service want to utilize.
8 / Additional Items for discussion / Mr. Kunz, with the American Heart Association addressed the 2014 Mission Lifeline STEMI recognition program. Kentucky had 6 agenciesjoin the other 208 EMS agencies that are receiving the inaugural 2014 American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline EMS Performance Achievement Award. / The six listed Kentucky agencies are now a part of elite group of prehospital agencies.

The purpose of the KY Board of EMS Clinical Quality Improvement Subcommittee:
Is to assist the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services in carrying out the duties described in statute and regulation relating to quality improvement of the State’s EMS system. This is accomplished by aiding the board’s Medical Oversight Committee, State Medical Advisor, and Data Administrator in the development of guidelines, reports, and recommendations to the Kentucky Board of EMS.
