Effective immediately, we will be providing a $1,000 bonus for West Point based employees who refer a candidate that is successfully hired into an open core craft position at the West Point site. The list of core craft positions are listed below.

- Mech Techn-Pipefitter/Plumber
- Utility Tech-Mech Air Cond/Ref
- Utility Techn-Stationary Engineer
- I/E Techn- Electrician

- I/E Techn- Elect & Instr Tech
Eligibility:
• Bonus award to be paid to an employee who refers a candidate successfully hired into a Core Craft position at the West Point Site between now and December 2017. Program to be reassessed at that time.
• Position must be one of the Core Crafts listed above and based at the West Point Site.
• Referral amount of $1,000 will be paid to the West Point based employee after 120 straight time days worked.
• To receive payment, the referring employee must be an active employee at the time of payout.
• Employee is Band 500 or below and not the hiring manager or a manager in the chain of command for the open position.
• Candidate must confirm that they learned of the position from the specific employee.
Process:
• Employee to send name of referred candidate to mailbox,.
• Candidate must apply to a core craft position on line: http://www.merck.com/careers
• Candidate should complete the application form and note the referring employee’s name in the “Referral – Give Referral Explanation” section.
• If referral is hired, once the new employee reaches 120 straight time days worked, $1,000 bonus will be processed.
