The regular meeting of the Davidson Town Council was held in the Town Council Chambers on December 18, 2012.

Present: Mayor Clayton Schneider, Councillors Audrey Bueckert, Tyler Alexander, Logan Tennent, Jason Shaw, Gerald Kenny, Administrator Gary Edom and Assistant Administrator Donna Bessey.

Absent: Councillor Doug Gilchrist

Mayor Schneider called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Adoption of Agenda

2012-156 Kenny: That the agenda be adopted as presented.

2012-157 Shaw: That the minutes of the November 19, 2012 regular Tennent: council meeting be approved as presented.

Recreation Director, Trevor Ouellette, attended the meeting to present his recreation report to council.

Purchase TV for Rink

2012-158 Kenny: That our recreation director be authorized to spend up to Bueckert: $800.00 to purchase a TV and other equipment necessary to display rink schedules at the Communiplex.

2012-159 Tennent: That the November financial statement be approved as Shaw: presented.

2012-160 Shaw: That the November accounts, cheques #19791 to Kenny: #19890, totaling $157,749.39, be approved for payment.

2012-161 Tennent: That Cindi Bezanson and Marla Ouellette be appointed to Bueckert: the board for the Davidson Branch of the Palliser Regional Library.

Canadian Fallen Heroes Request

2012-162 Tennent: That the request for a donation from Canadian Fallen Kenny: Heroes Foundation, to help fund the cost of creating online virtual memorials of soldiers from the Davidson area, be tabled until our next council meeting.

Additional Library Funding

2012-167 Shaw: That we approve payment of $186.00 to Palliser Regional Tennent: Library to provide coverage for 0.25 hours per week for the Davidson Branch, in addition to the hours already being funded through Palliser.

Building Inspection/Estimates for CTRC building

2012-170 Kenny: That we have a building inspection done at the former Bueckert: Carlton Trail Regional College building, located at the corner of Washington Ave and 1st Street, and then request contractor’s estimates, to repair any deficiencies, before we give any further thought to purchasing the building.

Relocating Optometry Office

2012-171 Bueckert: That we inform Joanna Keall that we will provide her with Shaw: as many alternative locations as possible to relocate her optometry practice, currently in the Medical Clinic on Washington Ave, and that we will pay her rent at the new location for the balance of her first year in Davidson.

2013 Bylaw Enforcement Contract

2012-172 Tennent: That we sign the agreement with Bylaw Enforcement Shaw: Officer, Ron Klassen, to provide his services for 2013.

2012-173 Tennent: That the purchase of another truck be discussed at our Alexander: next Public Works Committee meeting and brought back to the January Council meeting, if necessary.
