TO CLONE, OR NOT TO CLONE
Step 1: Research (4PTS)
Make a T- Chart listing the pros and cons of cloning (why is it good or bad?). Use the following sources to get your information.
- Read the Article, “Cloning Complications” and p. 154 in the Cells and Heredity Text.
- Watch the Brainpops on Dolly the Sheep and Cloning. The username is kyrene and the password is brainpop.
- Complete the Click and Clone Activity
- Access for some great information on cloning.
Step 2: Write an Essay (36 PTS)
Using the information you just researched, write a 3-paragraph essay explaining your stance on cloning. Do you think it’s a good idea? Why or why not? BACK UP YOUR ARGUMENTS!!!!!!!Your essay must have a beginning middle and end.
***You will be graded on ideas, voice, and organization using the 6- trait writing rubric.
Step 3: Create a public service ad/poster showing your stance on cloning (15PTS)
Now that you have researched the facts and developed a stance on cloning, you will create an ad/poster showing this. Use attention grabbing images and words, but keep it school appropriate!!!! Think about your strongest arguments- this is what you might want to put on your ad/poster. Look at the examples of tobacco ads for reference.
