SPECTATORS AT 95thPGA CHAMPIONSHIP AT OAK HILL

COUNTRY CLUB REMINDED OF MOBILE DEVICE ACCESS

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Spectators at the 95thPGA Championship, Aug. 5-11 at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.,will be allowed to carry and use mobile devices in select areas on the course.

The integration of mobile devices to enhance the golf spectator experience at PGA of America spectator championships began in 2011.

“The PGA of America has focused on making the best possible golf experience for those outside the gallery ropes, and we have been pleased with the process the past two years at our major spectator championships,” said PGA of America President Ted Bishop. “Mobile devices are a part of our daily lives, and we are confident that spectators who love the game of golf will continue to respect the ground rules as they cheer on the finest players in the game.”

During the PGA Championship, spectators at Oak Hill Country Clubwill be alerted to follow proper usage on site by adjusting the volume setting to “silent” or “vibrate.” Spectators may accept or make phone calls in designated areas throughout the golf course, primarily near concession stands. Digital messaging and checking data is allowed on the golf course. Cell phone camera use is not permitted during competition rounds. No video recording will be permitted at any time during Championship Week.

Spectators attempting to use their mobile device in unauthorized areas or in ways not sanctioned will be asked to surrender the device and pick it up at a designated location after they depart the golf course.
