Kingsgate I & II PoolEmployment Application

Lifeguarding at the Kingsgate 1 & 2 Pool Facility

Thank you for your interest in applying to work as a lifeguard at the Kingsgate 1 & 2 pool facility. We work very hard to foster a safe and customer-service oriented environment.

The hiring process involves completion of this written application, a formal interview with the pool manager, and a lead staff member, as well as a probationary period where water safety and first aid skills will be tested.

As a lifeguard at Kingsgate 1 & 2, it is important for an employee to want to be there. This is a job in which our main priority is to keep the patrons safe. In order for that to happen, one must have a desire to fulfill that requirement and have all their energy and focus invested in the job at hand. It is also necessary for a staff member to demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, confidence, and a desire to become a better employee. Further, they must be good communicators, and possess the ability to deal with a variety of different circumstances among their work mates as well as members and guests of the pool.

Staff members are called upon to do a number of tasks above and beyond the basic life guard training course, including but not limited to chemical testing and balancing, and cleaning and maintaining the facility. Life guard staff members are required to wear their uniform, report to duty on time, and demonstrate initiative in all aspects of the job. A first year guard can anticipate working between 60 to 100 hours—which include attending regular in-service training sessions.

Kingsgate 1 & 2 is a community environment where the guests truly enjoy getting to know the lifeguard staff and being known by them. If this fun yet challenging job appeals to you, please fill out and return the attached application form prior to March 15th, 2012.
