DMCG Appoints Officers, Sets 2007 – 08 Schedule

At its regularly scheduled May meeting the Executive Committee of the Dove Mountain Civic Group (DMCG) met and developed its program for the upcoming 2007 – 08 year. Present were President MaryAnnTrieber, Vice President AnnaStark, and Secretary/Treasurer Larry Steckler. These three, together with a group of team leaders will do their best to see that Dove Mountain residents are fully aware of everything happening on the mountain,

The first order of business was to reiterate that the DMCG shall remain an informal group for the purpose of sharing information of interest to all Dove Mountain Residents, and to continue the practice of no dues. However, contributions are gladly accepted.

As has been their custom, there will be no meetings during June and July. In August, the Executive Committee will meet to update, and confirm the scheduled forums.

In September, Hiking and Biking will be the subject of the forum. LarrySteckler was assigned the task of planning and organizing this session.

In October Bill Hallinan, Vice President of Cottonwood Properties, the developer of Dove Mountain, will be invited to give all residents an update on what is happening on the mountain. Mary Ann Trieber was assigned this forum.

For November all the business owners in the DoveMountainShopping Center will present information about their businesses. AnnaStark has taken on the organization of this session.

In December there will be no scheduled meeting. However, if necessary, the Executive Committee will meet.

For January 2008 we are asking the PGA to give us a preview of the 2008 Accenture Golf Tournament. We expect the PGA to pass along all the latest information about this year’s event – including access, tickets, parking, and its impact on residents.. MaryAnnTrieber will put this session together.

Come February the Manager of the Town of Marana, MikeReuwsaat, will be on hand to explore with us the 2007 Marana Development Plan. At that meeting we will also hear from Marana Unified School District Superintendent Dennis Deardon.. Larry Steckler will be organizing this forum.

March is the time for Cottonwood Properties and Lewis Management to have their annual meetings. These sessions will be organized by those organizations, and as always, all residents are invited to attend.

With April 2008, AnnaStark will be inviting the Marana Police Department and the Northwest Fire District to address our members

Several other important business subjects were discussed, including For Sale and Open House signs for residents who are selling their homes. The organization of a Pima County Hazardous Waste Collection dates. Continuation of a DMCG article in the Heritage Highlands monthly newsletter. Distribution of DMCG fliers in a variety of locations. Meeting space for our forums.

The Dove Mountain Civic Group (DMCG) is a group of volunteer residents who live in and monitor and inform the community about issues involving government and quasi-government agencies, services, organizations, land developers and other entities whose actions might impact or be of interest to the Dove Mountain community.
