1. Subject: My energy levels were super low before I tried this…

We all have those days where getting out of bed is way harder than it should be. Whether it’s because we dread going to work or because we didn’t have a good sleep, low energy affects us all.

I’m tired of being tired!

So I thought, “What do I have to lose?” and found a program that works for me to keep me energized, motivated, and on track.

I lost 10lbs, defined my arms and legs, and found that getting out of bed wasn’t so hard anymore… in fact, some mornings I woke up before my alarm!

Aside from that, I learned how to cook new, fun recipes that even my picky kids will eat… although, I haven’t told them just how many vegetables are in them!

2. Subject: You want me to do what with those weights???

I hated the gym. And I don’t just mean I hated working out; no, I hated the gym. I didn’t like going, I didn’t like being there, and I really didn’t like what I found inside. It was intimidating and every time I asked someone who worked there for help, they would just try to sell me on personal training.

Well, okay, that’s great… but I don’t have the thousands of dollars necessary to do personal training. I don’t want to commit to three times a week at 7am every single week. And, no, I don’t think I need to report to you everything I eat! Sorry.

But I still wanted to get fit. So what other options were there? Well, thankfully, I found DIY Active, just like you did! And there are so many workouts on this site. You have to check out the awesome weight loss approach

Now I have an arsenal I can use from my living room whenever I find a spare moment. The workouts are short, challenging, and totally doable at home. Plus, I don’t have to lift crazy heavy weights in the gym with everyone watching me! Because I have been that person who knocks over the weight stand before!! No, thank you.

3. Subject: If I hear, “What’s for dinner?” one more time…

Okay, yes, I’m going to feed myself and likely my family. But at the end of the day, after work, kids’ activities, my activities, laundry, and homework… when I open the fridge, I don’t want to have to think too hard about dinner.

That’s fair, right? I don’t think I’m asking too much. How many times have you opened the fridge and went, “Nope” and ordered something instead? It happens to all of us, even when we share the chores equally and can count on our partner not to burn the rice (okay, that one is me, but it’s harder than it looks!).

What can you do instead? Most of us are pretty insistent on cooking for our famjams because we know that’s the healthiest approach to food. 4. Subject: When was the last time you put yourself first?

Sounds insanely selfish, right? You’ve got responsibilities. Maybe you’ve got a really intense career; maybe you’ve got puke monsters. Either way, you have a lot of things to take care of in a day which don’t relate to yourself (at least directly).

Did you know that taking care of yourself first is more important than doing that extra work project or finding all the socks? We’re not suggesting you quit your job or stop feeding your children. We’re suggesting you need to find 30 minutes a day that is all your own.

If you can bump that to an hour, you’re my hero.

Wellness is important. Approaching it from the self-care standpoint can help you realize just how important it is. Reduce feelings of irritation by reducing your stress, improving your body’s nutrition sourcing, and balancing out your muscles so you don’t get those crazy neck cramps.
