DIT Travel Scholarship in Renewable Energy2018
DIT Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of the 2018 DIT Travel Scholarship in Renewable Energy.
The DIT Travel Scholarship in Renewable Energy provides an opportunity for a high-achieving DIT Masters or PhD student/recent graduate to pursue a practical work assignment in a developing country in the area of renewable energy. The recipient will work for a period of up to 3 months on a project managed by the international charity Renewable World.
The DIT Travel Scholarship in Renewable Energy is worth €10,000 which will cover all costs associated with the scholarship including travel and living expenses. The timing of the 3 month placement in 2018 is flexible and will be worked out with the successful candidate.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants are encouraged to read through the past blog posts from the previous 6 travel scholars prior to applying to get an understanding of the role.
To be eligible to apply students/recent graduatesmust:
- Be a full time Masters / PhD student or recent Masters/PhD graduate at Dublin Institute of Technology– Recent graduates must have graduated in the past 2 academic years.
- Have an interest in Renewable Energy and the developing world
- Students/Recent Graduates from all disciplines may apply however engineering/technical background is an advantage.
- Applicants must be available to travel for the 3 month placement in 2018 – timings are flexible.

- Depending on the quantity of applications a short list may be applied by the interview panel. If necessary a shortlist will be prepared by the interview panel.
- Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be brought forward for interview.
- Applicants will be invited to interview in December.
- The successful candidate will be notified soon after the interviews.
