1.4   SUBMITTALS

1.4.1   Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.

1.4.2   Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

1.4.2.1   Preparation instructions and recommendations.

1.4.2.2   Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.

1.4.2.3   Installation methods.

1.4.3   Shop Drawings: Shop drawings for each product specified, showing fabrication details, composite structure, and materials to be used as well as outlining installation procedures with no exposed fastenings, caulking, etc.

1.4.4   Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

1.4.5   Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.

1.4.6   Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.

1.4.7   Maintenance Instructions: Complete maintenance instructions for preventative maintenance and repairs of the units shall be submitted for incorporation in Project Data Book.

1.4.8   Closeout Submittals: Provide manufacturer's maintenance instructions that include recommendations for periodic checking and adjustment of cable tension and periodic cleaning and maintenance of all railing and infill components.

1.5   QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.5.1   Manufacturer Qualifications: A manufacturer engaged in the manufacture of the product for a minimum of 10 years.

1.5.2   Installer Qualifications: An installer engaged in the installation of the product for a minimum of 5 years or as recommended by the manufacturer.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.

1.5.3   Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

1.5.3.1   Finish areas designated by Architect.

1.5.3.2   Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect.

1.5.3.3   Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.5.4   Preinstallation Meetings: Conduct meetings to verify project requirements, substrate conditions, manufacturer's installation instructions, and warranty requirements. Comply with Division 1 requirements.

1.6   DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.6.1   Delivery and Storage:

1.6.1.1   Deliver and store in manufacturer's original, unopened, undamaged containers, identification labels intact.

1.6.1.2   Handle and store products according to manufacturer's recommendations. Store off the ground and leave products wrapped or otherwise protected and under clean and dry storage conditions until required for installation.

1.7.1   Ensure that locating templates and other information required for installation of products of this section are furnished to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
