  • Quizzes (30%)
  • Quizzes may be announced or unannounced
  • Quizzesmaycover multiple concepts.
  • Other Work (20%)
  • Practice sets, online quizzes, class work, homework, etc.

Criteria for credit:

All work must be turned in using the Criteria for Credit. Any work not following these guidelines will not be graded.

Label your assignments with your name, date and class period

Show your work.

Use pencil.

Work the problem down and not across.

Highlight your answers.

Work independently first.

Turn in your work on time.

Tutoring/Test Re-Take:

Tutoring will be available in A219 on Mondaysfrom 2:15-2:55 pm. Ask for a pass/note if you need one for parent, practice, etc. If you attend a tutoring session, you will be eligible for a retest if you scored below a 70% on your last test. The time limit on a retest is 2 weeks after the original test date. The retest is the FINAL grade.

Homework/Late Work/Extra Credit:

Late work will NOT be accepted. Homework not turned in on the due date will result in a 0/F. If you are absent on the homework due date, but was here to get the assignment, it is due the day you return. Do not ask for individual extra credit points.

Attendance:

Regular attendance is Mandatory! If you have more than 10 absences you will fail unless you make them up in the after school recovery program (tutoring). Any absences over 10 must be RECOVERED! Check with me if you want to know your absences. Learn the recovery policy so you will not fail due to excessive absences. Lockout counts as an absence from class.

Make-up Work:

This only applies to work missed due to an absence. You have 5 days to make up and turn in missed work. If you don’t make it up, the grade will stay a ZERO! This is the #1 reason why students fail besides poor test grades. Don’t let it happen to you! Check with me for your missing work. If you miss ONLY a review day, you will be required to take the test with the rest of the class.

Grade updates:

Progress reports will be sent home via students on the following dates required by CMS: Sept 21st/22nd, Dec 7th/8th, Feb 27th/28th and May 7th/8th. Parents/Guardians can use the CMS Parent Assistant website ( to view your child’s academic progress. If you have forgotten your username or password, email or call the Parent Information Line at (980) 343-6192. You should receive a reply within 24 hours (Mon – Fri). Feel free to schedule a parent/teacher conference with your child’s school counselor if you have further questions regarding the Parent Assist website or other concerns.

The best way to contact me is using my email at the top of the page.
