Dear Cindy,

Re: Patents and Leases, Tribag Mine Area, Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division

After reviewing the patented and leased claims in the Tribag Mine area, it has come to my attention that the leases (SSM35135, SSM35141, SSM35142, SSM35169) have reverted to the Crown, but are not available for staking. I would urge that the Mineral Development and Lands Branch re-assess their current status and address any potential mine hazard issues in order to make these lands available for staking. This area has high mineral potential for porphyry copper, molybdenum, tungsten, silver, and gold.

Patented claims that cover the Tribag Mine area (past copper producer) have not had land taxes paid since a notice/caution was placed on them under the Provincial Land Tax Act, on October 31, 1996. The owner was required to pay taxes owing on or before November 30, 1997, otherwise the land was liable to be forfeited by the Crown on December 1, 1997 (reference: LT208612, Land Registry Office, Sault Ste. Marie).

In discussion with individuals previously associated with the Tribag Mine property in question, it would appear that the company(s) that owned this property have been dissolved or lost their charter, and that taxes on these patents have not been paid in over 13 years.

The attached claim map and figures indicate the patented claims which have minor or no mine hazards associated with the land (SSM35128, SSM35127, SSM35137, SSM35136, SSM35140, SSM35168). Patented claim SSM35143 has a blocked adit and a mined stope which is open to surface and constitutes a mine hazard. I recommend that the identified patented claims with minor or no mine hazards be opened for staking a soon as is possible (i.e. June 1 openings 2008).

The high metal price for copper and other commodities has created a renewed interest and high level of staking activity north of the Sault. Opening an area where there is a previous copper producer would spur further discoveries and re-evaluation of past producers and developed prospects. A couple of new mines north of Sault Ste. Marie would provide significant economic growth to Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area. The Sault Ste. Marie Prospectors Association supports this initiative and I look forward to your response.

Yours truly,

Delio Tortosa,

VP, Sault & District Prospectors Association
