Quality

2.1Samples

One singleboard of complete system including adhesive, with applied finish of proposed colour, texture and incorporating all perimeter or special details.

2.2Site Benchmarks

Install an area not less than 5m² of the complete system to be checked and accepted in advance of the main installation.

Technical/ Functional Requirements

2.3Generally

i.The works shall be installed within the fixing zones indicated on the Design Drawings.

ii.The works shall accommodate all architectural and functional features indicated on the Design Drawings, whilst maintaining the fire and acoustic performance.

iii.The works shall include fixings, seals, insulation and all other components/ accessories necessary to complete the works as supplied/ recommended by the manufacturer to suit the service conditions.

iv.Systems shall accommodate light fittings, grilles, smoke detectors, PA speakers, sprinkler heads or other service penetrations as indicated on the Design Drawings and manufacturer’s recommendations or required by the Services Engineer.

v.Provide additional pattresses and supports as necessary to receive such fittings.

vi.Concealed access panels coated with the same surface shall be provided where indicated on the Design Drawings.

vii.Unless specified otherwise, joint widths and configurations shall be as recommended by the manufacturer for acceptance by the Architect.

viii.Locations of joints shall be as indicated on the Design Drawings, or where recommended by the system manufacturer to the acceptance of the Architect.

ix.Joints shall align with interfacing systems and shall reflect joints in the substrate for movement. Gaps within joints shall be uniform, unless specified or indicated otherwise on the Design Drawings.

x.Movement joints shall accommodate all foreseeable movements and expansion/ contraction whilst maintaining the overall system performance and appear as similar to the standard joint as possible.

2.4Fire

2.5Surface Spread of Flame

i.The works shall be classified as ‘non-combustible materials as defined in the Building Regulations and shall achieve A2-s1, d0 as per EN 13501
