Directions to the GSDCWKY Trial/Test Site
Glendhenmere Kennels is located south of Murray and west of Hazel
From I-24 South:
From Nashville take I 24 to exit 11 to Clarksville. Turn left off ramp and follow that road—pretty drive by the river—to McDonald’s-turn left. That is either 79 or runs into it a few miles down. Don’t go to Ft Campbell. You want HWY 79 through Dover to Paris Landing. Just past Paris Landing (big bridge over lake) turn right on Hwy 119 which turns into Hwy 121 when you get into KY. it is only about 25 minutes to my place from that turn. If you are coming out to the kennel turn left on Shoemaker Road about one mile past New Concord (wide spot in road). Bear to the left when it Y’s—stay on Shoemaker. You will come to a STOP sign. Go straight 1 1/2 mile to GLENDHENMERE LANE on the left. That’s my drive.
If you want to go to Murray first, don’t turn on Shoemaker—stay on Hwy 121 another 10 miles into Murray—turn left on Sycamore and the Murray Plaza is at the red light (l block). If you are staying at the Day’s Inn turn left on Glendale Road (before Sycamore), go to red light turn right and it’s just a few blocks down on the right. Murray is one of the easiest places to get around in I ever lived in.
Now—when you come back from Murray on Hwy 121 south (one you came in on), don’t do back to New Concord. You will turn Right on Hwy 893 about four miles out of Murray. On hwy 893W go about 3 miles and turn LEFT on Shoemaker and we’re 1 1/2 mile down on the right. The street sign says GLNDHENMERE LANE. It’s a little blacktop lane, turn right and follow it up to the house (about ½ mile). Make sure you stay on the blacktop.
When you come out to go home, turn right on Shoemaker and it will take you back to 121 south. Shoemaker makes a loop with 121 on each end. Handy.
From the North: From I 24 near Paducah—go to exit25(the Fulton exit) Take the exit to Murray (about 8 miles down). That is Hwy 641. Murray is about 20 miles and it is a 4 lane all the way to Murray. If you are coming straight out to the Kennel-turnleft at Circus Skate (on right) Used Car dealer (on left) follow that road through Murray—it becomes 121 south, continue on 121 South past Murray about 3 miles turnright on Hwy 893 west, go about three or four miles turnleft on Shoemaker road, go 1 & 1/2 mile turnright on Glendhenmere Lane-- blacktop lane—go about 300 yards turn left up hill—follow blacktop.
(if you are going to the motel first, stay on 641 down to Sycamore. One motel is on the right and the other is just down 641 on the left. When you leave the motel keep going south on 641 to the last red light. Turn left or east on Glendale Road, turn right at end onto Hwy 121 South and follow above instructions out to Hwy 893.)
