Day 1:

Arrival in Durban, you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel located in a popular residential and shopping area of the city. Rest of day at leisure.

Overnight: Garden Court Umhlanga (or similar), Durban.

Day 2:

Durban, once known as the last British Bastion and renowned for its old Colonial homes and architecture, has become a veritable melting pot of culture and intrigue. A melding of history, traditions and beliefs, which totally encompass South Africa’s policy of tolerance and equality

for all! This is the true ‘Heart’ of our RainbowNation. Allow us to take you on a journey of sight, smell and sound as you drive along the well-known Golden Mile, wander through the

lush tropical Botanical Gardens, savour amazing Panoramic Views and interact with Local Traders at the famous Victoria Street Indian Market.

Visit uShaka Marine world, an AquaticTheme Park that was designed under direction from the Disney Theme Parks team. Your enjoyment is guaranteed, with an amazing shipwreck themed Aquarium, a waterworld with lots of slides and a lazy river for children, Dolphin and Seal shows, and even Animal encounters. Meeting a dolphin is a very special!

Day 3:

You will be collected by your guide, and we depart via one of South Africa’s premier tourist routes – The Midlands Meander - famous for its Ethnic Art, Weaving, Leather Work, Pottery, Wind Chimes, Hand Crafted Furniture and a host of other intriguing skills and crafts! We are able to spend an hour or two on the Meander discovering its treasures, before continuing our journeyto the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. Spectacular vistas, breath-taking scenery and diverse flora and fauna are what you can look forward to experiencing for the next two days. Arriveand check-in, enjoying the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 4/5:

Two days for you to decide what appeals to you most! Perhaps it’s a full day hike into the mountains accompanied by a local mountain guide, or for those who are not quite so energetic, a relaxing day at your accommodation, experiencing the various facilities on offer such as tennis, enjoying the swimming pool or booking an optional horse-ride. There is also a 9-hole golf course adjacent to your hotel. Whatever your choice, you can look forward to experiencing a day filled with breath-taking scenery, spectacular vistas and the most diverse flora and fauna!

Day 6:

You will be collected mid-morning and transferred to Nambiti Wildlife Reserve, a private Big Five bush retreat and game conservancy set on 20,000 acres of malaria-free bushveld in KwaZulu-Natal. Check in at your safari lodge, and in the afternoon, set off on the first game-drive. The red African sun drops towards the horizon and your ranger has found the perfect vantage point.

You sip on sundowners and savour a wonderful array of snacks discussing the sightings made only minutes before. The sun slips out of sight, the spot lights are out and the time is right to see the big cats moving around on the reserve. Return to your lodge for dinner and a night – you may be lucky and hear the calls of the nocturnal animals.

Day 7:

You will be woken very early, and after a cup of coffee or tea, set off on the morning’s game drive. Settle back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the African Bush. For the next 3 hours your ranger will keep you enthralled as you seek out and discuss the diverse fauna and flora as it awakens before your eyes. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then it’s time to relax. Take in the magnificent views of the valley below, have a dip in the rim flow pool or simply lie back on the deck or in your beautifully furnished room, with your favourite magazine or book whilst enjoying the tranquillity. After lunch we set off on the afternoon’s game drive before yet another delicious dinner at the lodge.

Day 8:

Your last morning game-drive before you will be collected and transferred to Durban’s King Shaka International Airport for departure.(B)
