Be The Light

Directions: Do something to be a light in the darkness.

Due date: Friday, March 30th

  • You have one month to create a project where you will be a light in the darkness. At the end of the month you will share your project with your classmates through a tri-fold board or poster. You will have time in class every Friday to work on your project, as well as optional time during Mav Block. The rest of the project will need to be completed outside of class.

Requirements:

  • Project Approval
  • You must submit a project proposal and have it approved by your teacher. The proposal must include a name for your project, a logo, a slogan, a mission statement, a plan of action, and a call to action.
  • Due Tuesday, March 13th
  • Research
  • You must include the research assignment that demonstrates your knowledge of the “darkness” you have found in the world around you. This can be through news articles or interviews. You will complete the coordinating research assignment handout.
  • Due Friday, March 16th
  • Work Log
  • You will complete the work log packet three times a week on the assigned days. You may add more information if you’d like. Each entry should show progress in your project.
  • Photos/Videos/Documentation
  • You must include some sort of documentation of what you have done to be a light in the darkness. You may include photographs, videos, or any other kind of documentation.
  • Final Reflection
  • At the end of your project, you will write a 1-2 page reflection on your experience in being a light in the darkness.
  • Suggested things to discuss in your reflection:
  • What did you learn?
  • How did you feel doing your project?
  • Was it what you expected? Explain.
  • How could this make life better for someone else?
  • How could this make your life better?
