Job Description

Position:Research & Analytics Intern

Reports To:Co-CIO, Sr. Analyst(s)

Status:Temporary internship, Hourly (40hours per week)

Dates:June-August

Position Summary:The intern position will be engaged across all activities of the Arnerich Research and Analytics department.The intern will be assigned a series of projects and research to be completed over the course of the internship which will provide high quality results for the firm and varied learning opportunities and exposure for the person in this role.

Job Duties:

Research:The intern will assist analysts in performing all of the following, yet may focus in one or two areas defined by task or asset category:

  • Assist in evaluation of impact and sustainability managers and portfolio analysis.
  • Monitor Arnerich Massena approved manager search list and investment managers of traditional assets. Keep list up to date, and inform department head and consultants of watch candidates. Monitor and report on Arnerich Massena manager watch list.
  • Carry out and communicate investment manager due diligence activities including finding new managers of traditional assets.Track on-site visits required to meet client commitments and fulfill product evaluation and monitoring.Complete and distribute investment manager due diligence write-ups.

Client Projects:Assist with or lead client projects such as investment policy review, asset allocation studies, program reviews, manager searches, portfolio reviews, and other work supporting client relationships.

Specialty Areas:Assist in a specialty area such as 401(k) plans (fee analysis, recordkeeper and bundled provider analysis), major corporate projects (e.g., annuity program review), software specialist (e.g., eVestment, Morningstar, Bloomberg), department support projects and other areas as defined by consultants or department head.

Attend manager and/or client meetings and assist with presentations, as needed.

Other position-related duties as assigned, including ad-hoc projects for other teams or departments, which may include (but is not limited to) research, data entry, file management, document or presentation creation, assisting with Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma and be workingtoward college degree, preferably in economics or finance.
  • Strong math, analytical, and research skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex financial concepts.
  • Effective and professional interaction with clients, investment managers, and Arnerich Massena staff.
  • Knowledge of financial securities and terminology, portfolio theory and analysis, statistics, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new software applications.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively, and prepare attractive presentations, exhibits, write-ups, and correspondence.
