Adopted: 4/29/11 by the Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club Board of Directors

Revised: 07/29/13 by the Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club Board of Directors

  • There will be a maximum of 15 specialty numbers
  • There will be a maximum of 8 solos awarded to skaters who have met the requirements outlined below:

-Skaters who have passed Pre-Juvenile Freeskate will automatically qualify for a solo-1.5 minutes maximum. In the event that the skater’s competition number fits the show theme, the skater will be allowed to skate their competition number in its full length.

-Seniors who have passed Pre-Juvenile Freeskate will automatically qualify for a solo-2 minutes maximum. In the event that the skater’s competition number fits the show theme, the skater will be allowed to skate their competition number in its full length.

-Seniors who have passed Freeskate 6 will receive a Senior Solo-1.5 minutes maximum.

  • Skaters who have passed Freeskate 2 will be guaranteed to be a part of a small group number which will be configured at the discretion of the Show Committee.
  • Seniors who are F3 and above will be recognized in a Senior Feature number. Each Senior will be individually showcased for 30 seconds in the feature number. If all Seniors qualify for a solo, they can collectively choose against participating in the Senior Feature number. The music and costumes for the Senior Feature number will be chosen by the Show Committee.
  • Seniors who have not reached the Freeskate 3 level will not be considered for a Specialty or a Senior Feature number. They will be acknowledged during the Show.
  • Solo skaters who are Seniors will be allowed to provide input into music selection and costuming for their number, however, the costume and music must be approved by the Show Committee.
  • Specialty number eligibility will be determined at the end of the first testing session of the season. If a skater is in the test levels, their Freeskate level will determine their level of eligibility.
  • Priority for specialty numbers will be given first by skating level, and second by the number of years you have been an active member of Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club.
  • Instructor cameos will be 45 seconds in length and tied to another skating number. Cameos will be either duets or trios with the possible exception of skaters who are Juniors in High School. Juniors, who do not qualify for a solo, will be given a solo instructor cameo number. Juniors, who do qualify for a solo, will be placed in a duet or trio instructor cameo number.
  • The Show Committee will determine the specialty number configurations, select the songs and costumes for all non-senior specialty numbers, the Senior Feature number and provide approval for Senior Solo number songs and costumes.
