Deutsch 1-2A WILLKOMMEN IM DEUTSCHUNTERRICHT!!Mrs. Snell

Room A-2082014-2015

The information below is to help ensure that you will learn as much German as possible during this school year. Learning to speak and understand German requires memorization and practice. You will be asked to memorize much vocabulary accurately and also to practice using that vocabulary accurately. How much you learn depends on how much of an effort you make. Especially because this is an accelerated class, you must work hard all year to be successful.

PERFORMANCE: Tests and quizzes will be given often, at least once a week, and will count for 60% of your grade. I reserve the right to give surprise quizzes, so be prepared! There will be a lot of emphasis on new vocabulary and, in order to make sure that everyone is studying nightly, there will be frequent vocabulary quizzes.

PREPARATION: Homework will be given daily, either written or memorization/practice. Written homework will be checked and reviewed in class and sometimes collected for a grade. All homework must be in class and on your deskat the time it is reviewed (at the beginning of class) to receive credit. The non-graded HW assignments will be checked and recorded once a week. All HW assignments will count for 20% of your grade.

PARTICIPATION: Participation is an important component of developing language skills and, as such, counts for20% of your grade.
