Job Purpose:

The post holder will be responsible for the successful delivery of the key tourism and destination focussed actions in the Council’s Business Growth strategy. This will include supporting the district’s tourism sector, enhancing the local destination brands and developing activity in town centres. This will include:-

  1. Leading on the development and continuous improvement of a strong destination brand for Allerdale
  2. Developing and leading the Council’s targeted support for the tourism sector in line with the Business Growth Strategy
  3. Developing and leading the Council’s approach to developing attractive, vibrant town centres

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Develop, manage and continuously improve a strong destination brand for Allerdale and supporting brands

2.  Ensure that Allerdale and the tourism sector in the Borough has a strong web and digital presence

3.  Identify and develop ways to improve and enhance the visitor experience in Allerdale in partnership with stakeholders

4.  Provide support to the tourism sector in Allerdale and manage the key stakeholder relationships relevant to the sector for the Council

5.  Develop and manage the council’s approach to developing attractive, vibrant town centres

6.  Identify and develop the ways to enhance the night time economy within the Borough’s towns

Health and Safety

Essential Requirements
