DESIGN YOUR ORGANISM

**You can work alone or with a partner in class….but partner problems/issues will not be handled by the teacher unless in extreme circumstances!

  • Imagine if you could design a new living thing, what would you create?......
  • Be creative, yet be sensible!! Your organism should possess characteristicsthat some living thing already has but you can enhance the characteristic if you want---use your imagination (as Spongebob says) Have fun with it!
  • This assignment is divided into 2 parts:

Part I---The Look of your organism— 81/2 X 11 size or smaller paper

--Under the Write a common and formal you want it to be called--For example…Common name: Tiger Formal name (genus and species: Pantheratigris

  1. Create a VISUAL of your organism and Write the name of your organism below the visual…What will it look like??? You can do this in one of 3 ways:
  1. Make your own DRAWING-Include as many details as possible. Your drawing MUST include color, texture and body part design. So use color pencils or markers as needed.
  2. Make a PHOTO COLLAGE of your organism—try to find photos of different parts of an animal and glue them together to create a new organism
  3. Make a GRAPHIC DESIGN of your organism—The printout must be in color!If you are good with computers and want know how to use a computer make a graphic of your organism, then go for it!
