Job Role
To ensure that FareShare NE has the volunteer resource to deliver the overall business objective, and to lead on the recruitment, assessment,development and retention of volunteers. To lead on the design, trial and implementation of a volunteer training programme.
Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deliver a Fareshare NEtraining programme
  • Manage the volunteer rota and ensure all shifts are planned and filled to meet business needs
  • Create and maintain excellent partnerships with organisations who can direct potential volunteers towards volunteering opportunities with FareShare
  • Promote volunteering within FareShareNE through publicity and attending profile raising events to attract new volunteers
  • Manage corporate volunteer activity and maximise the impact from corporate volunteer opportunities
  • Proactively generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and associated role descriptions based upon the needs of the business
  • Collaborate with FareShare UK and Changing Lives volunteer department personnel to maximise opportunity and develop best practice
  • Ensure all paperwork, record keeping and reporting is completed, ensuring full legal compliance
  • Keep up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and making any necessary modifications to accommodatechanges
  • Support the delivery of formal induction training for all volunteers as well as role specific training
  • Provide supervision to each volunteer on a one-to-one basis as needed, and be the point of contact for all volunteers and supporting them towards employment were appropriate
  • Explore the potential for running in house employability programmes and linking with other employability agencies

  • Managerelevant budgets and resources including the reimbursement of expenses
  • Present a professional image of FareShare NE at all times.
  • Comply with all legal and health and safety requirements.
