Design Conditions

  • Internal: 15 psig or full vacuum at -20 degrees Fahrenheit to +300degrees Fahrenheit with or without full jacket vacuum.
  • Jacket: 75 psig or full vacuum at -20 degrees Fahrenheit to +300 degrees Fahrenheit with or without full internal vacuum
  • Top Head: 2:1 Semi Elliptical with standard nozzle locations:
  • Cover 1 –4” handhole, Halar coated, with hinged Model
  • 150 nozzle mounted fused steel sight glass, and protection
  • ring, misc, top inlets
  • Bottom Head: 2:1 Semi-Elliptical
  • 1 – 3” nozzle, CBO
  • Built and stamped in accordance with the ASME Code, Section VIII, Division 1. and National Board stamped. Manufacturer's Data Report, National Board registration, certified drawings, and Installation and Maintenance manuals available upon request
  • Interior vessel and top head will be carbon steel construction with coating to be Edlon’s proprietary SC-2001™ ECTFE-based coating sprayed to a nominal thickness of 0.040” thick on the interior and nominal 10 mils on the exterior.
  • Accessory coating will be Edlon’s proprietary SC-2001™ ECTFE-based coating sprayed to a nominal thickness of 0.040” thick on the interior and nominal 10 mils on the exterior
  • Vessel exterior coating is a nominal 10 mils SC-2001™ ECTFE-based coating on the exterior top head, and exposed carbon steel on vessel (that is not covered by sheathing) will be epoxy painted with Steel-it paint with stainless steel flakes
  • Top entering agitator single flight – Multi-purpose agitator to provide heat transfer and suspension of solids, general purpose mixing, using 14.5” diameter CBT (curved blade turbine) with a clockwise rotation 3 HP motor, 3PH, 60HZ, 230/460 volt, sync. 1800 RPM, explosion proof, Class 1, Division 1, Group C&D, complete with adjustable frequency control
  • Baffle includes: One, Fin baffle, Edlon’s proprietary SC-2001™ ECTFE-based coating, including a TMI temperature sensor
  • Skid mounted Heating and Cooling System includes: 35 kW circulation type Electric Heater suitable for 250F heating water operation, carbon steel construction, SCR power panel with temperature controller for remote mounting, 480V, 3 Ph, 60 Hz.
  • Circulation pump: centrifugal type, 35 gpm at 100’TDH, suitable for 250F water operation, stainless steel construction, single mechanical seal, 3HP motor, TEFC, 480V, 3 Ph, 60 Hz.
  • Chilled Water Heat Exchanger: shell and U-tube type unit, 304L SS tubes and tubesheet, carbon steel shell and bonnets, approx. 20 sq ft surface area, FV/100 psig at -20/350F design, ASME code.
  • Jacket water expansion tank: carbon steel construction, butyl rubber diaphragm, approx. 10 gallon capacity, ASME code
  • All of the above equipment is mounted on a structural carbon steel frame with interconnecting piping, instruments and valves, suitable for non-hazardous electrical area

  • Centrifugal pump, sealless magnetic drive, PTFE lined construction, VFD speed control, 5-20 gpm capacity, 3 HP @ 1750 rpm TEFC motor, 1” flanged connections
  • Pfaudler will provide the instrumentation as follows for the reactor and heating/cooling systems, including:
  • Reactor baffle (supplied with 70 gallon reactor), with temperature sensor.
  • variable speed controllers for mixer and discharge pump, supplied loose for remote mounting
  • Pressure Relief Valves, threaded connections, CS const., supplied for the reactor jacket heating/cooling equipment.
  • Local Process Pressure gages, process, threaded connections, 316 SS construction, supplied with flanged Teflon diaphragms for process connections.
  • Chilled Water control air actuated valve, bronze body with SS trim, for cooling control of reactor jacket.
  • Local utility pressure gages, threaded connections, 316 SS.
  • On/Off air actuated valves, PVDF diaphragm type, for process and DI water piping.
  • Conductivity sensor and transmitter, PVDF construction, designed for insertion into reactor.
  • Turbidity sensor and transmitter, PVDF/316 SS construction, designed for insertion into reactor
  • Local bi-metal type temperature indicators for heating/cooling system piping.
  • WE/WT-XX Load cells with weight transmitter for reactor batch weight measurement and control.
  • temperature sensor in SS thermowell with temperature transmitter for heating/cooling system and reactor jacket.
  • SCR SCR controller for heater mounted in panel, for remote mounting.
  • Type “J” thermocouple on heater sheaths for overtemperature sensing and control.
  • Overtemperature switch for protection of heater sheath.
  • Control system for control of the reactor temperature control and the heating/cooling system is included, SCR power panel is also included.
  • Feed pump and discharge pump will be adjustable, reactor pressure is controlled by venting to scrubber, pump and mixer VFD’s supplied by Pfaudler
  • Dual-service SFHC Single Fluid Heater Chiller System
  • Single-skid assembly of 2 independent Heat/Chill systems, one for each reactor
