1.  Skinner-Jones Hall: Programming and Construction: Programming, Schematic Design, feasibility study to re-purpose this building. Program with other buildings having related departments (Math, Engineering, Health, etc).

Changes from last month: Construction activities continue on schedule. Footings, foundations and slab for the addition are on-going. The temporary stair structure has been completed to allow Ajax to close the second floor walkway of Building 4 (S-J North).

2.  Arena Bridge Demolition: This project entails the demolition of the damaged bridge between the Arena and the Parking structure. Demolition will include the ceremonial stairs at the plaza.

Expecting a Change Order Proposal from Elkins for the installation of the pedestrian light poles. Additional concrete that was damaged during demolition is being replaced. New lights are on order and are expected to ship 11/18. No Change from last period.

3.  Starbucks Refreshing of Space at the Library:

Campus Planning is working with Procurement Services to develop a bid package which will allow the work to commence during the winter break. No change from last period.

4.  Einstein Bros. Kiosk at Hicks Hall: A satellite Einstein Bros. convenience outlet is planned for the entry area of the cafeteria lobby space. It will serve bagels, pre-made wraps, salads, sandwiches, parfaits, coffee and beverages.

A construction start-up meeting was held on October 25th. Installation is scheduled for November 9th to be completed in about 10 days.

5.  New 500-bed Housing Project: Design and Construction of a 500-bed housing facility.

Changes from last month: A kick off meeting with stake holders was held on September 9. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for November 9TH to agree on the project parameters for the Programming Phase RFQ. A draft was sent to stake-holders for preparation.

6.  Founders Hall – Career Services: As a result of the decentralization of Career Services, most of the space is to be subdivided to accommodate the Interfaith Center and the Dean of Students. Career Services will be reduced.

Awarded contract to Warden Construction for the first phase of Interfaith space. Kick-off meeting is being scheduled. Phase II 60% construction documents are complete and under review.

7.  Campus Road Extensions: As a result of the new Development Agreement with the City of Jacksonville, funds will be provided to UNF for the construction of three new transportation projects. They are: (1) the construction of a new multi-use path along Central Parkway from St. Johns Bluff Road to (2) the northern extension of Eco Road to CentralParkway and (3) the northern extension of Osprey Ridge Road to Varsity Lane. Funds will be distributed to the University on a cost reimbursement basis.
