To promote excellence in education and support student success at Champion High School. This will be achieved by maintaining positive lines of communication with students, teachers, parents, and community members, and promoting a friendly, helpful, professional work environment utilizing cooperation, teamwork and the desire to touch the lives and hearts of our students.
BISD was founded February 8, 1907. It is located 25 miles northwest of San Antonio, covers 365 square miles and encompasses parts of Kendall, Bexar and Comal counties. The rural and suburban areas that make up the school district have approximately 36,000 residents. The district consists of five elementary, two middle schools and two high schools which accommodate approximately 8,300 students. Samuel V. Champion High School was opened in 2008 as a public four-year secondary school and is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. SVCHS competes in District 27 5A and has an approximate enrollment of 1,640 students in grades 9-12.
The demographic breakdown of the student body is:

Class rank and grade averages are calculated numerically at the end of each semester. BISD adds points to the following courses when calculating GPAs:
18 Points to AP, Dual
10 Points to Pre-AP, Honor courses, capstone CTE courses
2 Points to Core Classes (Languages, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies)
All other courses receive grade earned except Pass/Fail courses. Courses taken prior to 9th grade for high school credit are not included in GPA calculation. Adjusted grades are used in computing grade average and rank in class, but numerical grades on the transcript do not reflect the added points. GPA is calculated on a 100% scale and provided as a weighted average only. For complete details on the BISD GPA calculation process, refer to www.boerne-isd.net
All grades are recorded numerically. Transfer grades are recorded using the numerical equivalent on the grade scale of the sending school. Otherwise, grades are translated as follows:
